Camp

Okay.  I promised that I'd tell you all about camp, so here it goes!

I got to camp on Sunday the 17th.  It was the first day of camp, so we didn't do a lot.  However, we did have the option to go swimming or play sports in the field in front of our cabins.  After swimming we built "houses" out of cardboard and duct tape.  Before bed we had evening worship and then prayer in our cabins before bed.  The next morning we got up around 7:00-7:30.  Breakfast was at 7:45!  Because the entire camp was full this year, our schedule was a bit repetitive.  Every day we would do about the same thing.  However, we always had the option to stay near our cabins and play Ultimate Frisbee, or kickball or something like that.  For example, instead of going to the lake or the pool, we could stay behind.  However, everyone had to go to low ropes each day.

Everyday we had three meals and two snacks.  We would go to Breakfast in the morning, Lunch at 11:15, and then we had Canteen (snacks) at 3:30 before ropes course.  Dinner was at 5:15 after ropes course and then we had canteen in the evening before evening worship.

I usually went swimming once everyday, and I only went to the lake one time on the second to last day of camp.  That was fun!  Most of us ended up having a water war in the middle of the lake. :)  The final full day of camp was field day.  We were placed in the same groups that we had been in during ropes course each day.  One girl's cabin and one guy's cabin were in each team.  I think there were 4 teams.  My team was blue, and the other teams were green, orange, and purple.  I participated in the wheel-barrel relay, the egg and spoon relay, leap frog, human "hurtles" (Misprint on their part... Oh!  I was a runner, not a "hurtle."  No one got hurt.), and the distance run (not fun...).  Other events included an eating competition, an egg toss, and a three legged race.  There were a few other events, but I can't remember them.

Sadly, blue team didn't get first, but I think we got third.  We also got the team spirit award!  Whoo!  I'm looking forward to going back next year, but hopefully we will be able to do more.  I was pretty bummed that we didn't get to do high ropes, or archery.  Oh well.  Oh!  I almost forgot.  I loved my cabin.  It had hot water, two showers, and air conditioning!  The air conditioning was welcome after being outside, but it was way too cold at night.  In the mornings, I would wake up shivering!  I still had a ton of fun though.
